Refund Policy

Last updated: August 11, 2026

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for paid subscriptions to the Wayward Found Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Web subscription payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor and billing platform. For web subscriptions, Wayward Found is the merchant/seller and is responsible for refund decisions, chargeback responses, receipt and invoice content we control, and sales-tax registration, collection, and remittance decisions, subject to applicable law. Stripe processes payments and approved refunds on our behalf.

2. Cancellation Is Not the Same as a Refund

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings (Settings → Subscription), through the Stripe customer portal or any cancellation link in your receipt, invoice, billing portal, or subscription-management flow, or by contacting support@waywardfound.com. If you purchased through an app store, you may need to cancel through that app store.

Unless applicable law or platform rules require otherwise, cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund amounts already paid. After cancellation, your subscription remains active through the end of the current billing period, and your account reverts to the free tier after that period ends.

3. No Prorated Refunds by Default

Except as stated in this Policy or required by applicable law, Wayward Found does not provide prorated refunds, credits, or cash equivalents for partial billing periods, unused time, failure to use the Service, dissatisfaction with AI outputs, or cancellation after a renewal charge has been processed.

This default policy is subject to any non-waivable statutory cooling-off period, cancellation right, billing-error rule, app-store rule, or other consumer-protection law that applies to your purchase.

4. Refunds We Will Generally Provide

We will generally provide a refund or credit where we verify:

  • a duplicate charge for the same account and billing period;
  • a charge after you successfully canceled before the renewal deadline;
  • a material billing error by Wayward Found, Stripe, or another authorized payment platform;
  • substantial Service unavailability during the billing period that we could not resolve within a commercially reasonable time; or
  • a refund required by applicable law, app-store rules, card-network rules, or the rules of another authorized payment platform.

Refunds are not guaranteed for issues caused by your device, internet connection, failure to cancel, account sharing, violation of the Terms, or misunderstanding of AI-output limitations that were disclosed before use.

5. Statutory Cooling-Off and Mandatory Rights

Wayward Found is currently intended for U.S. users. If we make the Service available in a jurisdiction that provides a mandatory cooling-off, withdrawal, cancellation, or refund right, this Policy will be applied subject to that right. Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot be waived by contract.

For digital services, some jurisdictions allow immediate performance only if the consumer expressly requests immediate access and acknowledges that doing so may affect withdrawal or refund rights. Any such consent must be captured in the checkout flow where required.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact support@waywardfound.com and include your account email address, the date and amount of the charge, the Stripe receipt, invoice, payment, or transaction identifier if available, and the reason for the request. We may ask for additional information needed to verify the transaction and determine eligibility.

We aim to review refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe or the applicable app store and are returned to the original payment method where possible. Bank, card-network, Stripe, and app-store processing times may affect when funds appear on your statement. Approved refunds generally include applicable taxes charged on the refunded amount where required by law or supported by the applicable payment and tax settings.

7. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge through your card issuer or payment provider, Wayward Found may respond through Stripe and applicable card-network or payment-method processes. We may suspend paid access while a chargeback or payment dispute is pending, subject to applicable law. Contacting support before initiating a chargeback may allow us to resolve duplicate charges, cancellation errors, or billing issues more quickly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will not reduce refund rights for charges already incurred unless permitted by applicable law. Material changes will be communicated as required by law and the Terms of Service.
